As a service ESS provide a safe and confidential space where you can openly discuss your professional concerns, dilemmas, and aspirations. As supervisors they offer a non-judgmental approach, fostering a relationship built on trust and respect.
ESS recognizes that your needs are unique, which is why the supervision service is specifically designed for headteachers, designated safeguarding leads, and CEOs of Multi-Academy Trusts. The sessions are customized to address your individual challenges, helping you develop practical strategies and enhance your leadership skills.
The approach emphasises reflective practice, helping you to explore your experiences, thoughts, and emotions in a structured manner. ESS consultants will try to get you to gain deeper insights into your leadership style, identify areas for growth, and refine your decision-making abilities.
Offer 1: Designated Safeguarding Lead Individual Safeguarding Supervision
This package includes six sessions spread across the academic year, where the lead DSL meets remotely with a supervisor from ESS. Each one-to-one session lasts for a full hour. These sessions are scheduled in advance at a time convenient for the individual and provide a specific focus and exploration of the complexities and challenges of the Designated Safeguarding Lead role. Like all our sessions, it provides a safe space for your safeguarding staff member to process the emotional toll of their ongoing work and/or current issues.
Offer 2: Group Safeguarding Supervision
This offer is ideal for safeguarding/pastoral teams in settings facing challenges that require group discussion or reflective learning. It includes six half-termly facilitated remote supervision sessions, each lasting a maximum of 60 minutes. The group should consist of no more than six members of staff, ensuring everyone can participate effectively. Included in the offer is one additional one-to-one hour-long session with the lead DSL to discuss team dynamics and processes. Further sessions with ESS can be negotiated as needed by the lead DSL.
Offer 3: Supervision for staff in the Early Years Foundation Stage
At Education Safeguarding Services, they can also provide supervision for any staff working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage in a school-based setting. As with Offer 1, this package includes six remote one-hour sessions spread across the academic year for an individual staff member. It is designed to support schools to meet their statutory requirements in relation to Sections 3.27-3.28 of the EYFS 2024 and will ‘provide support, coaching, and training for the practitioner’ promoting the interests of children. As with all sessions, it will provide an opportunity for staff to reflect on their practice, explore any worries or concerns about the welfare of children and will help to contribute towards developing confident and competent staff groups.

Offer 5:Pay as you go safeguarding supervision
Remote supervision hourly sessions can be purchased on a PAYG, first come, first served basis, either as a one off for staff new to the DSL role or associated roles who may be dealing with a challenging situation who need additional wellbeing support but do not want to commit to an annual package.
